Erasmus+ exchange – France 2026
On Monday, 12th January, thirteen students and two teachers from Gimnazija Vič started our journey to Paris by train.

After a long journey that involved four different train connections, we arrived at our destination. We immediately started our sight-seeing by visiting the Sacre-Coeur Basilica and Montmartre.
On the next day, we visited our French exchange students at their school and found out some very interesting information about their school system. We were able to talk about the differences, for instance the number of years that we spend in secondary school.
Our partner school for this project is one that specialises in biological and technical engineering. This made the tour of the building even more interesting as we got to see all the laboratories and workshops. Then, we headed to the centre of Paris to do some more sight-seeing, this time by visiting the Eiffel Tower and the Arc de Triomphe.
The plans for the next day involved visiting the House of Europe. Here, we were able to play the roles of Members of the European Parliament. This was especially useful and interesting for us as the main theme for our Erasmus+ project is linked to politics. After this experience, we were able to take some time to visit both Notre Dame and the Louvre Museum.
This brought our time in Paris as we headed by train to Strasbourg to visit the European Parliament. Here, we enjoyed a tour of the building and the chance to find out more about European politics in general. After this, we were able to enjoy some flammekueche, one of the speciality dishes of the region.
Then it was time to start our journey back home. With many train connections ahead of us and some last-minute changes of travel plans, we were able to keep ourselves entertained by enjoying some stories from the past days of our very successful exchange.
