Independence and Unity Day 2026
Every year, on 26th December, Slovenia marks the proclamation of its independence referendum with a day of national holiday.
As a way of marking this occasion, and to help bring the school term to an end, students of Gimnazija Vič put together a special performance based on the theme of the choices that we have to make in our lives.
Alongside our school choir, under the mentorship of Marija Mihevc and with pianist Nika Šverko, students worked on a witty script that brought together musical performances, poetry, and debate.
Well done to everyone involved for creating an event that allowed the audience to really enjoy themselves while also considering some of the more serious decisions that we have to make as part of our society.
