IATEFL English Competition 2023
Through the school year, students from our 3rd Year classes have taken part in a range of different tests as part of the competition for the IATEFL organisation in Slovenia. These start at a school level before moving on to cover the different regions across Slovenia. Then the students who have proved themselves to be in the top group for the country take part at the national level competition.
Through the entire competition, students must show a very high standard of knowledge and ability when it comes to the English language, culture and literature, and writing skills.
This year’s competition has now come to an end and we are very happy to be able to announce that several of our students achieved great success across the different stages including at the national level.
Congratulations go to Mark Šilar who received a gold award and to Kaja Alja Simpson and Nikolaj Gregorič who were both awarded silver level prizes.
An additional word of commendation must go to Mark who was also named as the student who took first place in the competition for all of Slovenia.
We would also like to thank the teachers and mentors from our school’s English department who worked with these students through the year to prepare them so well for the different tasks across the competition.
