Blood Drive 2026

At the start of April, a group of our students went to the Slovenian Institute for Transfusion Medicine as the successful conclusion of a blood donation campaign within Gimnazija Vič.

About 30 students took part, all of whom were old enough and in good physical health so as to be a valuable addition to this part of the healthcare system.

The plan to encourage students to get involved was coordinated by Nejc Marinič from our school’s PE department with the help of the local branch of the Red Cross. Through this cooperation, students got to hear about the history of blood donation in Slovenia, find out about the donation experience, and talk to some volunteers involved in the programme.

The students appreciated how important being part of this system is and have said that they look forward to repeating the donation again in the future.
