MUN Conference – Budapest 2024
From 6th to 9th March 2024, four students from our school who are members of our UNESCO/MUN club attended this year’s international KarMUN conference at Karinthy Frigyes Gimnázium in Budapest, Hungary.
Anja Pavšič, Katarina Adam, Miha Dragojevič, and Žiga Kovačič debated as delegates in the Security Council, Human Rights Council, and the Crisis Committee. Everyone performed well which led to each winning an Honourable Mention Award.
This year’s KarMUN’s theme was Global Consciousness and, in a way, that is also what MUN is about in general. Model United Nations conferences are educational simulations of UN conferences and debates, through which students test and improve their knowledge of current events, public speaking abilities, researching and writing skills, and their use of English which is the official language of MUN.
