Since last year, students and teachers from Gimnazija Vič were excited about the possibility of an excursion to North America. The October holidays gave us the perfect opportunity and, from the beginning of the school year, plans were made to make this a perfect trip.

During the third week of October, our school played host to a delegation from our Erasmus+ partner school in Stockholm, Blackebergs gymnasium.

Gimnazija Vič has transformed a patch of our school land into an eco-garden for the school. This allows students to learn more about the science of life within a garden setting through practical education while also allowing us to grow fruit and vegetables to be enjoyed at our school.

On 17^th and 18^th of October 2025, we hosted our annual VičMUN conference. This is our school’s Model United Nations event and we are always delighted to host students from around Slovenia and our neighbouring nations.

During the third week of September 2025, we were delighted to welcome a delegation of teachers and students from our Erasmus+ partner school, Gymnasium Martinum Emsdetten in Germany.

On 1^st September 2025, we opened the doors of our school to welcome students in to begin our new school year. Teachers and other members of staff had been working hard behind the scenes for weeks before to make sure that everything was ready from the very beginning to ensure this will be another successful year for all our students.

Before students can enjoy the long summer break, there are exams to be taken at both school and national level in Gimnazija Vič.

Since 2022, Gimnazija Vič has been part of Green STEM (Green Science Teaching Materials for digital learning). This is an Erasmus+ project that has also involved schools from Croatia, Romania, and North Macedonia.

Through the past school year, our students have worked hard on writing pieces of haiku poetry for both national and international competitions.

Between 15^th and 17^th May 2025, a group of students from Gimnazija Vič travelled to Trieste – some by train while others actually cycled the entire way from Ljubljana to Trieste.

Between 27^th April and 2^nd May, a group of students from our school took part in an educational excursion to Germany as part of the Erasmus+ programme. Accompanied by our teachers, we visited the cities of Munich, Münster, and Emsdetten, in which our partner school is located.

On Thursday, 24^th April, several schools from around Ljubljana joined together for a special event to mark World Book Night 2025.

Through this school year, students from Gimnazija Vič worked through the different levels of the national competition for the English language, organised by IATEFL Slovenia.

This year, our school enjoyed great success at the national competition for history organised by Društvo učiteljev zgodovine, the Slovenian History Teachers’ Association.

This year, our school entered Slovenia’s national economics competition for the first time under the mentorship of our philosophy teacher Edin Saračević.
